Lamar Fletcher Garrard Rome, Ga., May 22 -- (Special.) -- Lamar Fletcher Garrard, 43, died on Wednesday evening at his home on Silver Creek, Route 1, after an illness of several months. Mr. Garrard is survived by his widow, three sons, Winfred, L. F., Jr., and Oliver Blevins, all of Floyd County; four daughters, Mrs. Herman Rice, Rebecca, Mildred and Billie Ruth Garrard, all of Floyd Springs; five brothers, A. T. Garrard, of Nacogdoches, Tex; J. W. Garrard, of Powder Springs; C. H and J. C. Garrard of Rome; three sisters, Mrs. Claud Wall, and Mrs. Willie Britchett, of Atlanta, and Mrs. W. P. Broadaway, of Rome, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Wesley Chapel, near Relay. The Rev. Mr. Bowden, pastor of the Relay Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery. -----The Chattanooga News, Friday, 22 May 1936, page 2
