69 Years of Age.
George Franklin Niedt was born on April 17, 1882 in Clarks county, Iowa, to John and Minerva Niedt. While he was still very young the family left Iowa, moving to Boone county Nebraska. His boyhood days were spent there. When a young man he moved to Comstock, Nebraska, where he worked as a barber and farmer. On February 1, 1910, he married Pearl Ada Wills. To this union were born two children, Vena Gene and Leo Oliver. They moved to Ansley, Nebraska, soon after the marriage where he was engaged in farming. In 1939 they moved to a farm near Gibbon. Five years ago he came to Kearney to retire because of ill health. He attended church most of his life. He made public confession of his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ three years ago in the Church of God. On August 1, 1951, at the age of 69 years, 3 months, and 14 days, after a long period of illness, he left this world to go to his eternal home to be forever with the Lord. Those who remain to mourn his absence are: his wife, his daughter, Mrs. Vena Dene Cannon of Kearney, his son, Leo Oliver of Austin, Texas, his aged mother who is now 96 years of age, three brothers, Fred of Comstock, Nebraska, Rueben and Senate of Berwyn, Nebraska, three grand children, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
