ATCHLEY, Sallie (Parks) CENTER EAST 20 15 60y, 1m, 12d 11/24/1851 5/01/1912 Born in Red River County, Texas, to Jack Parks and Mary "Mollie" A Butler. Her maternal grandmother, Priscilla (Atchley) Butler, was the aunt of her husband, Newton Daniel "Dan" Atchley, whom she married on 26 Jul 1898 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas. From the marital union of Sallie and "Dan" were born five known children in the following birth order: Elijah "Lige" Emerson Atchley, Joseph Alexander "Elec" Atchley, Mabel M (Atchley) Powers, Jack Wally Atchley," and Willie "Bill" Hoss Atchley. Sallie and "Dan" moved their family to Kiowa County, OK, shortly after the territory was opened to white settlement in 1901. Sallie rests next to her husband in Roosevelt Cemetery under a headstone inscribed "Sallie, wife of N D Atchley."
