DALTON'S OBITUARY Born in Abilene, TX to D.E. and Aulene White. Worked almost his entire life. Picked cotton for a penny a pound. He stacked hay in sweltering heat. At 14, he sat on an apple crate and drove a school bus chassis from Dallas to Forestburg so he could make a truck to haul watermelons to the farmers market. Dalton pumped gas.. He managed a Pizza-Hut. He worked for the same company under its different entities for 50 plus years. Dalton loved his job and loved work. Even when he was off work, he was usually still working. I'm not sure when his love for vehicles started, but it showed throughout his years. He always worked on and talked about cars. He loved wood working as well. He repaired and restored antique furniture. He even built custom furniture for a few years. You could always find Dalton working on something with a hat on his head and a cold beer either in his hand or nearby. He loved fishing as his father and grandfather did. There are numerous pictures of Dalton in front of the many fish he's caught.. There's even a picture of him holding a catfish that is almost as long as he was tall. Dalton enjoyed taking pictures too. Every year at family reunions, he would put on a slide show for the family of the previous years' reunion. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, even working closely with the organization for a while delivering reports to the coaches before games. He loved golf as well, whether it was playing a round with friends or his son, hitting balls in the front yard, or watching his favorite player on TV. Dalton had an amazing sense of humor and was a prankster. His laugh was unmistakably him unique, loud, and infectious. Dalton's friends he made through life and work, he loved them and his family dearly. Whenever it was, he would do anything he could possibly do to help them. After his wife Mary passed,, he felt he was lost.. I believe he felt it was time to be with her again. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; Preston White, Mary Yarbrough, Juanita Brown and Mildred Copeland. You're with your family again and waiting for the rest of us. You're with mom again dad! Hopefully you're with Copper too. He is survived by his daughters, Sophie Santana of Corsicana, TX, Heather Jackson of Fort Worth, TX, and son, Dalton White III of Garland, TX, grandchildren Michael White, Joseph Bear Williams, Zoe Williams, Brittney Jackson, and Zachary Harrell.
