She moved several times growing up, but found her home in Grand Island and graduated with the class of 1979. Later that year she married Russell Gunn on June 30, 1979. She was happy to put roots down in Grand Island and raise their three sons here. She was employed in security with Fonner Park for 20 years. After retirement, she worked at JoAnn Fabrics. Tammie was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grand Island. Tammie enjoyed collecting bears and snowmen, and all sorts of crafts. Through her work in genealogy, Tammie was able to track her family clear back to the Vikings, along with many other interesting facts. Her world was her family and friends who became family. She loved every minute she could spend with her grandkids and enjoyed her sons' humor and conversation. Her legacy is continued by her sons, Chris Gunn and Michael (Amber Betterly) Gunn, both of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessee and Russel E. Gunn II; four brothers and numerous extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Eugene Gunn; son, Russell Edwin Gunn II.
