Bio

Genevieve Pierce was the daughter of Isaac Washington Pierce III and Elsie Marie Peterson. She married Gratien Octave Etchebarne November 30, 1933 in Pocatello, ID; they divorced about 1940. They were the parents of Betty Etchebarne. She married Raymond Alvin Nielsen July 29, 1940 in Dillon, MT. All various documentation is in the name Genevieve Pierce, Genevieve Etchebrane or Genevieve Nielsen. The name "Dolly "Tandy' does not appear on any documentation until the Social Security Application/Claim for child Betty Nielsen. It then is used in her obituary and on her headstone. A possible explanation for her assuming a different identify (Dolly Tandy) is that her first husband gained a bit of notarity in 1947 when he was killed in a shoot out with police after he robbed a bank in Nevada City, CA. MESA – Services for Dolly T. Nielsen, 60, of 5424 E. Baltimore, who died Aug. 13, 1978, at Good Samaritan Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the 12th Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Brown and Bush Roads. Mrs. Nielsen was a nurse, a genealogist, and secretary and historian for Relief Society. She is survived by her husband, Raymond; sons, Don and Raymond; daughters, Betty Dever, Leone DeFriez, Evalyn Mazurek, and Annette Thompson; a sister; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
