Marvin Lee Helman, 68, husband of Marcia Rae Renner Helman, of Simpsonville, died Saturday, March 2, 2013. Born in Brainard, NE, he was the son of the late Adolph and Christine Helman. He served in the United States Army during The Vietnam War where he was awarded the Purple Heart medal. Mr. Helman was president of Helman Engineering Company. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Dana Helman and wife Kelly, and David Helman and wife Renee. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, in the Chapel at Thomas McAfee Funeral Southeast, 1604 NE Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. The family is at the residence.
