OBITUARY, published in The Oakland Press, August 1989 BENNETT, EUGENE; of Red Oak, Mi., formerly of Clarkston; August 7, 1989; age 64; preceded in death by wife Thelma; father of Michael of Pontiac and Mark of Red Oak; also three grandchildren; brother of Clifford and Louie Bennett both of Harrisburg, Ill. Mr. Bennett was an Army veteran of WWII; past Commander of American Legion Chief Pontiac Post #377 and Post #162 Luzerne; a member of the Mio Moose Lodge and the Chairman of the Oscoda and Mio Soldiers and Sailors Relief Fund. Funeral services Thursday 1 pm Lewis E. Wint and Son Trust 100 Funeral Home Clarkston with Reverend Harry E. Carr officiating. Interment Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, Novi. Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday with suggested hours of 3-5 and 7-9 pm.
