Lee Roy Peterson, 74, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:41 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL. Lee was born on December 6, 1947 in Lyons, NE, the son of Ralph and Minnie (Whaley) Peterson. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Lee worked for 30 years as a U.S.D.A. meat inspector and then 20 years as a real estate appraiser and broker. He built his retirement home in Shelbyville. Lee enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Cribbage and helping others. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville. Lee married Marsha Irene Brown on December 30, 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Krista Lee Reeves; son-in-law, Charlie Bacon, Jr.; and siblings, Donnie Peterson, Larry Peterson, Lola Persson, and Jean Bray. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard.
