Bio

Lillie Tipton Martinets, 95, of Georgetown, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Georgetown Hospital. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of life graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Granger City Cemetery with Brother David Johnson officiating. Lillie Martinets was born Jan. 9, 1909 in Beyersville to August and Marie (Gebert) Findeisen. She was a 70-year member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor. Lillie was a registered nurse at Johns Community Hospital for 50 years. After retiring she continued taking care of others, always helping to take friends to their doctors appointments, grocery shopping, errands and other appointments. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters, and her husband Jerome Martinets in 1970. Lillie is survived by her son Bill Tipton and wife Molly of El Paso; a daughter, Ruth Miles and her husband John of Georgetown; grandchildren, Cullen Tipton and wife Joellen of Onalaska, Christi Gimenez and husband Daniel of Houston, John Miles III and his wife Rita of Reno, Nev.; and great-grandchildren Connor and Katilynn Tipton, Charlotte Gimenez and Zachary Miles. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses of the West Wing of the Wesleyan Nursing Home for their loving care of Lillie. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wesleyan Nursing Home Special Care Unit, 2001 Scenic Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78626 or First Baptist Church of Taylor 701 Davis Street, Taylor, Texas 76578 in Lillie Martinets' memory.
