Bio

Thomas "Tom" Sweetser, age 90, of Dover died Friday, January 21, 2022, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1931, in Fayetteville to Jack Albert and Velda Alma Sutton Sweetser. He loved reading and building doll houses. He had a dinner group he called "Tom's Friday night dinner group". He loved his family, especially his grandkids who affectionately called him "Dumpy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Sweetser; three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Maren Sweetser of Denver, Colorado; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mitzi and Keith Henderson of Russellville and Bridget Shinn of Conway; a son-in-law, Mikel Shinn of Conway; a sister, Polly Shannon of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, Austin and Nathan Shinn, Hilary Downey, Kiersten, Madelyn, Laurel Henderson, and Kristine and Anna Sweetser; three great-grandchildren, Tom and Ben Downey and Lola Shinn; and a good friend, Marilyn Pritchard. The memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at the Shinn Chapel with the Pastor Joe Hanna. Burial will be private and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
