Carl Durall Rickerson, age 79, of Sherman, TX, passed away with his family by his side, on Friday, January 7, 2022 at his residence. Carl was born on September 24, 1942 in Sherman, TX to Carl B. and Ruby Cleo (Null) Rickerson. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1962. He married the love of his life, Lenda Lou Tuley on February 5, 1964 in Sherman, TX. During their 57 years of marriage, Carl worked many jobs not limited to Burlington Cotton Mill, more than 20 years at Texas Instruments, Montgomery Ward and finally retired as a carpenter from Gentry construction, owned by boss and dear friend Ken Gentry. Carl enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl was also the type of person who could not say "No" if you needed help whether it was carpentry or auto mechanics. He loved gospel music and going to concerts. He is survived by his wife; Lenda Rickerson of Sherman, TX, his son; Darrell Rickerson & Sheila of Sherman, TX, daughters; Leslie Skipworth of Sherman, TX, Carla Tindell & Kevin of Sherman, TX. His brother; Thurman Rickerson & Gwen of Spring, TX, niece Saundra Rea & Gus of Sherman, TX, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Carl B. and Ruby Cleo Null Rickerson and his sister; Jimmie Shaw. A memorial service will be held on January 22, 2022 at 10:45 A.M. at New Heritage Baptist Church, 2122 S. Heritage Parkway, Sherman, TX with private family burial at Van Alstyne Cemetery.
