Jirasek Jimmie C. Jirasek FORT WORTH - Mary Horton Jirasek, 75, a civil service medical secretary, and Jimmie C. Jirasek, 74, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, in Fort Worth from injuries received in an automobile accident. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lake Worth United Methodist Church. Entombment: Greenwood Mausoleum. Memorials: Tarrant County Chapter of Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 9709, Fort Worth, Texas 76147, or charity of choice. Mary Jirasek was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Emporia, Kan. and retired from federal civil service after 29 years. She served as a Red Cross Volunteer at Carswell Hospital. She earned an associate's degree in 1979 at the age of 54. She will be remembered as an honest, warm and gentle person. She was filled with love and responsibility for her family. Jimmie Jirasek was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Taylor and retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant with just under 21 years of service. He continued to work in civil service for 12 years and operated his own trucking company for 10 years before retiring. He was completely unselfish, kind and considerate to everyone. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans and the National Association of Uniformed Services. The Jiraseks were married Feb. 8, 1948, in Emporia, Kan. and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with family and friends in 1998. They had lived in the Fort Worth area since 1967 and were members of Lake Worth United Methodist Church. Survivors: Daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Richard E. West Jr. of Argyle, Joyce and Alan J. Kappeler of Fairfax, Va.; grandsons, Derek C. West of Argyle, Jonathan A. Kappeler of Fairfax, Va. Mary Jirasek is also survived by a sister, Nina Robinson of Topeka, Kan., and a brother, Kenneth Horton of Admire, Kan.
