Bio
Catherine Cocek, 87, of Pasadena, Ca. died at Eisenhower Nursing Home on May 16, 2001. She was born July 18, 1913 in Palacios, Tx. to Frank and Marie Theresa Uptmore Willenborg. She was the youngest of four children. She resided in Blessing, Tx. and Tours until her marriage. She married Emanuel M. Cocek in Tours on February 8, 1939 and soon after, moved to Pasadena, California where she lived until her death. Into the union, three children were born: Doris, Gary and Janice. Catherine was preceded in death by her father in 1915, her mother in 1976, her husband Emanuel in 1978, sister Elizabeth Brodnax in 1975, brother Frank Willenborg in 1975 and her brother Louis Willenborg in 1998. She is survived by her daughter Doris Warrant and husband Gary of Kalispell, Mt., son Gary Cocek and wife Elizabeth of Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. and daughter, Janice Maxson and husband Ron of Pasadena, Ca., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Catherine enjoyed embroidery work, yard work and playing cards, and she loved playing dominoes. She returned to Tours for her family reunions; the Willenborg reunion in November 1983 and the Uptmore reunion in March 1992. Funeral services will be held at St. Phillips Church in Pasadena on May 21, 2001. Interment will be in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
