The Custer County Chief, Broken Bow, Nebraska, 22 Sep 1932, p.1 Pete Sokol, farmer living near Ansley, met with a fatal accident Thursday when his head became caught in the drive wheel of a corn binder which he was operating. It is thought that he was fixing some part of the machine and put his head through the wheel to reach the part. The horses evidently started up, crushing his head and death was probably instantaneous. He was found by his young daughter when she went to take her father a drink after coming home from school. She told her mother something was wrong with her father and help was called. As soon as they realized the seriousness of the accident the doctor and Sheriff Holcomb and County Attorney Runyan were summoned. The man had probably been dead considerably over an hour. Mr. Sokol is survived by his wife and four children. His father and brother from Loup City and a brother from Omaha came to attend the funeral. Funeral services were held from the Sacred Heart church Saturday morning. Interment was in the Ansley cemetery.
