USMC Enlistment Date: 11 July 1941 ~~~~~~ From USMC muster rolls… — 1/1942 found him as private with First Casual Company, Guard Battalion, Marine Corps Base, San Diego, California — 4/1942 found him as private at Marine Barracks, Naval Ammunition Depot, Fall Brook, California. [- no discharge info yet found -] ~~~~~~~~ 2nd (US Army) Enlistment Date: 24 June 1944 -o- Enlistment Place: Fort Douglas — Salt Lake City, Utah -o- Medical Discharge Date: December 1945 (service related disability injury) ~~~~~~ On 27 April 1947, he married Doris Rae Prall (1929 - 2011). During their shared journey of 64 years they raised three children (two daughter & a son.) ~~~~~~~~~ On 7 January 2022, after final services at their church in Caldwell, he was escorted by Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) to his final resting place — joining Doris for "the rest of the ride."
