John L. Fight was born about 1870 in Wisconsin, the son of German immigrants Johnannes "John" and Cresenca Grace (Hagel) Fight. John married Florence JoAnn Draper on February 24, 1891, in Cass County, Nebraska. Florence was born September 12, 1871, in Murray, Cass County, Nebraska, the daughter of Daniel Sylvester and Roseana Caroline (Carpenter) Draper. John and Florence had the following known children: 1. Olga Mae (Fight) Forman (1892-1988) John died of typhoid fever on December 23, 1892, in Cass County, Nebraska. Florence then married Silas Adelbert Schlotman. Florence died February 3, 1962, in Valparaiso, Saunders County, Nebraska. The Plattsmouth Journal, 29 Dec 1892, page 7: John L. Fight of Eight Mile Grove died yesterday morning at his home of typhoid fever. The deceased was twenty-three years old and a son of John Fight, and also a son-in-law of D. L. Draper. The funeral occurs Wednesday at 2 o'clock and the remains will be interred in the Eight Mile Grove cemetery.
