Bio

Son of Arthur and Mary Simmonds Stripling. Married Amanda Stripling about 1842 in Alabama. He and Amanda owned a town lot in the city of Montgomery. He was a wagoneer and was often paid by the city of Montgomery as a watchman. The family is found in the 1850 and 1855 census' for Montgomery. No other information is found until the probate of Amanda Stripling in 1859. In 1860 the children, other than James who died the day after his mother Amanda, can be living w/ Stripling relatives in Union Parish, LA. William and Amanda had 6 children: James 1844-1859 Mary J E 1846 Martha Ann 1845-1873 William H 1851- 1889 Adriana Amanda "Ada" Stripling 1854 Lenora Francis "Fannie" Stripling 1857
