John H 'Jack' Overstreet Services Wednesday ~ Winnsboro - Services for John "Jack" H Overstreet, 74, Winnsboro, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Dale Osborne & Jerry Noble officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Overstreet died Sunday in a Quitman hospital after a brief illness. He was born March 1, 1918, in Wood County, a veteran of World War II in the US Army. He was retired from Wood County Precinct 1 as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church and was a well-known fiddle player who loved music. He was preceded in death by two sons, Derrell and Curtis, and two daughters, Brenda and Nichole, and his wife, Edith Marie Barton Overstreet, in 1990. They were married in 1942. Survivors include; two sons, John Overstreet, Rockwall, and David Overstreet, Quitman; three daughters, Sonyia Noble, Winnsboro, Sandra Robinson, Malta, New York, and Barbara Black, Gainesville; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Willie Hallonquist, Pittsburg, and Irene Overstreet, Winnsboro.
