Services for Johnnie Edward Sebetka, 88, Van, Texas, are scheduled for 2 p. m. Wednesday at Hilliard Funeral Home, Van, with the Rev. Chris Aho officiating. Burial will be in Fairway Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Sebetka died December 23, 2007,in Tyler, Texas. He was born January 9, 1919, in Alsdrof to the late John Thomas and Antonia Toupal Sebetka. He lived in Tyler and Dallas prior to moving to Van Zandt County 26 years ago. He served in the Army Air corps and was a manager for Eckerd Drugs. He was also band leader and drummer of a polka band, The Peppermints, for 13 years. He was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Maggie Cusack, and sisters, Ailene, Mary and Tonie. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Hattie Sebetka, Van; son, Johnnie E. Sebetka, Van; daughter, Cindy Rice and Claudia Sanders, both of Van, and Sharon Deason, Tyler; sisters, Helen Haller, Dallas, and Pauline Kovar, Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
