Bio
Phyllis Gwendolyn Penner, the daughter of Orsamus and Belle (Myers) Cass, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 23, 1920, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 28, 1993, at the age of 73 years, 1 month, and 5 days. She grew up in Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1938. On August 20, 1948, she was united in marriage to LeRoy "Fritz" Penner at Aurora. Gwen worked as a bookkeeper for many years and was employed by Consumers Public Power, Stuchlik Realty, Greg's Drugs, Davis OK Tire, and Aurora Apothecary, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Aurora VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed outdoor hobbies, fishing, and camping. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 2 brothers, Wilbur and Warren Cass. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, "Fritz" of Aurora; 2 sons, Steve Penner and his wife Dee of North Platte; Mike Penner and his wife Stephanie of Aurora; 8 grandchildren, Jay Penner and his wife Kristi of North Platte, Justin Penner of Long Beach, California, Scott Penner and his son Zackery of Sacrament, California, Derrick and Rebecca Penner of Gothenburg, Sandra Baker and her husband David of McCook; Traci Penner and her Fiance Norman Willey of Kearney, and Sean Penner of Aurora.
