Roger John Stanislav January 18, 1942 ~ December 20, 2021 Roger John Stanislav, 79, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 20, 2021, at Mercy One Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa with family by his side. Per Roger's wishes cremation has accorded. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 14, 2022 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Blencoe, Iowa with Father Michael Erpelding, officiating. Burial will be in the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa, Iowa. A luncheon will follow at the St. John's Catholic Church in Onawa, Iowa, following the burial. A memorial visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 13, 2022 at the Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa with a Rosary at 6:30 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa. Roger John Stanislav was born January 18, 1942 in Onawa, Iowa, the son of John J. Stanislav Jr. and Lillian C. (Paseka) Stanislav. He graduated from Blencoe Consolidated High School in Blencoe, Iowa in 1961. Roger worked as a farmer growing up on his family farm outside of Onawa, Iowa, alongside his father (John J. Stanislav Jr.), brother (Norman), and nephews (Michael and Russell). He also worked at Doug Hansen's Feed Lot running the Field Queen cutting silage in the fall. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, baking, going to farm toy shows, and caring for cattle and Belgium Horses. Survivors include one brother, Norman (Karen) Stanislav of Blencoe, Iowa; two nephews, Michael Stanislav of Turin, Iowa and Russell Stanislav and his children, Novie and Hadlie Stanislav of Blencoe, Iowa; a niece, Renee (Jason) Lamprecht and their children Kaden, Dawson, Madeline, and Ashlyn of Smithland, Iowa; and several other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Stanislav Jr. and mother, Lillian C. (Paseka) Stanislav; and several other family members and friends.
