U S AIR FORCE WW II
Wayne L. Schooler, 87, passed away December 15, 2007 in Sun City West, AZ. In 1939, Mr. Schooler enlisted in the United States Air Force. He honorably served his country for over 21 years. During that time he served in WWII. Among his many military decorations are the: Army Good Conduct Medal with three Bronze Loops; Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two Bronze Clusters and the WWII Victory Medal. After his military retirement, Mr. Schooler found employment with the University of California – Riverside, where he was a groundskeeper for over 20 years. When his wife Edythe retired they moved to Sun City West, AZ. Mr. Schooler was also awarded the Fifty-Year Masonic Golden Anniversary Award on September 22, 2007. Mr. Schooler is survived by his daughter Kay Trevino and Joan (Von) Bailey, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10AM Thursday December 27, 2007 at Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, 13658 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, AZ. Interment will be in The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Arrangements entrusted to Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, AZ. Published in The Arizona Republic on 12/23/2007.
