Vernon W. Overmiller, 91, Neosho, passed into eternal rest at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin. Vernon was born September 14, 1916 in Taylor, TX the son of Henry and Clara Overmiller. He had lived in the area for many years and had worked as a manager for the Fina Gas Station. Vernon was a WWII Navy Veteran serving his country from 1944 to 1946 in the Philippines. He was a member of the VFW and past member of the Lutheran Church in Neosho and Joplin. Vernon married Gladys Snow June 17, 1954 in Fayetteville, AR and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Gary Overmiller, Seneca; two daughters, Karen Overmiller, Summersville, MO and Karla Overmiller, Granby, MO; one sister, Verda Marquardt, Boulder Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Vernon was preceded in death by brothers, Otto Obermiller, Albert Obermiller, Marvin Obermiller and Henry Obermiller and three sisters, Lilly Ladewig, Clara Jesse and Peggy Driska. Funeral services under the personal care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Chapel with Pastor Cynthia Royce officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery. *** Vernon W. Overmiller and Pearl I. Wilson were married 4 December 1948 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri Vernon William Overmiller and Gladys Snow were married 17 June 1954 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas
