Bio

Andrew Louis Sykora III, of Walden on Lake Conroe, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012. A memorial service was held Friday, Sept. 28, in Montgomery, Texas, followed by a reception at the Walden Yacht Club. Officiates were Deacon Gary Hyde, the Rev. Connelly Duggan, and Richard Monroe. Andy was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Waco, to Andrew Louis Sykora II and Eloise Sykora. He proudly served his country for six years as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Andy graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor's degree in business. He worked as a VP for Nestle Corporation for 32 years. Andy was a longtime resident of Walden. He had a dynamic personality, infectious sense of humor, and a vigorous amount of energy which enabled his serving as president of the famous "Walden Follies", and president of the Walden Men's Golf Association. Golfing with "The Old Dogs" and being on the Walden golf course was his greatest joy. The Hole in One and winning the Stampede were many on the special memories he shared with his friends. Andy also loved hunting with his best friends. The 160+ club in Mexico was the highlight of his hunting career. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Louis Sykora II; and his brother, Gary Sykora. He is survived by his mother, Eloise Sykora of Waco; his wife, Maureen "MoJo" Sykora of Montgomery; daughter, Shelly Kopsick and husband, Scott; and his son, Ryan Sykora. Andy also leaves two grandchildren, Taylor Grace and Graham Douglas Kopsick. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Traditions Hospice, 1862 Rock Prairie Rd., College Station, TX 77845.
