Bio

Marva Ann Quadhamer, 79, of Hildreth died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services were held Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with the Rev. Sylvia Karlsson officiating. She was born Nov. 16, 1928, north of Hildreth to Harm and Minnie (Alberts) Johnson. On Sept. 6, 1946, she married Edwin Quadhamer. Survivors include her husband; son, Jerry of Hildreth; daughters, Teresa Evers and Carol Loschen, both of Hildreth; sister, Janet Straatmann of Kearney; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include her daughter-in-law, Cindy Quadhamer of Hildreth; sons-in-law, Loyd Evers and Jeff Loschen, both of Hildreth; brother-in-law, Verle Straatmann of Kearney; and nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was baptized in the Christian faith on Dec. 21, 1928, at St. Paul's English Lutheran Church. She affirmed her faith in the rite of confirmation on Aug. 23, 1942. She graduated from Hildreth Public High School in May 1946. The love and devotion seen in her 61 years of marriage with her husband was an inspiration to their children and grandchildren. The couple resided on the Quadhamer family farmstead until they retired to their home in Hildreth in 1993. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church until her death. She was a member of Lydia Bible Study and Forever Young Women's Group. She will be remembered for her wonderful crafting talents and her love of handiwork. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed greatly by her family.
