Bio
Helen L. Wenger (Deason), age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at home surrounded by family. She was born March 26, 1929, in Dallas, to Minor and Grace Deason. She was a 1946 graduate of Corpus Christi High School. She married Robert E. Wenger on November 19, 1948, in Corpus Christi. She worked for the Army as a secretary in Fort Gordon, Georgia during the Korean War. She retired as a secretary from Corpus Christi ISD, displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems. She ended her career at Crossley Elementary, which is where Helen started her schooling as a child. Helen was an accomplished seamstress, spending many hours sewing for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, which took her throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. One of her greatest pleasures included spending time with family and friends. Helen was a member of the Weber Road Church of Christ and past member of Furman Avenue Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be held at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2021. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
