Catherine W. "Kathy" Murphy was born in SC, the daughter of Elekiel Murphy SC and Charity Martin NC. She married Benjamin Louis Elrod about 1850 in SC. They migrated to Dekalb Co., AL by 1860 and on to Anderson Co., TX by 1872, where they resided with their children and extended family for the rest of their lives. Their children included:Susannah A.
