Norma and E W Hendley were married August 25, 1947. Services for Norma Hendley, 83, Wills Point, were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at Wills Point Church of Christ with Shawn Williams and Ken Maddox officiating. Graveside services were held at Meredith Campground Cemetery near Eustace under direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home, Wills Point. Mrs. Hendley died June 18, 2006, in Wills Point. She was born Dec. 12, 1922, in Malakoff to the late Milton Columbus and Delta May Dodson Clay. She graduated from Malakoff High School and lived in Walton community prior to moving to Wills Point 31 years ago. She was a homemaker and member of Wills Point Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, E.W. "Wardo" Hendley; grandson, Billy Rozelle; sisters, Elizabeth Rogers, Laura McIntire and Joyce White; and brothers, Melvin Clay, Olin Clay and Billy Clay. Survivors include sons, Mickey Hendley, Tyler, Rickey Hendley, Emory, and Alfred Hendley, Commerce; daughters, Wanda McBride, Wills Point, Bobbie Kennon, LaRue, and Sandy Barrett, Round Rock; brother, E.J. Clay, Brushy Creek; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
