Nancy, was born on August 6, 1935 to Charles and Frances (Blessard) Ferris in Roanoke, Virginia. Nancy was raised in Virginia and graduated from Andrew Lewis High School. She moved to North Platte to be closer to family and worked at JCPenney. Nancy met Johnny Wardyn and they were married on March 18, 1956 in North Platte. She worked at both the downtown and mall locations of JCPenney and retired in 1993. Nancy was a member of First Christian Church, Eagles Auxiliary, VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, being the past president twice of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved gardening, dancing, and doing jigsaw puzzles. Nancy was known as the "Cookie Lady" and shared her cookies with everybody.
