Our beloved Dad and Grandfather, Ire Isidore Zaruba, 90, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 surrounded by his daughters at HCA West Houston. He was born in El Campo to the late John and Annie (Kocurek) Zaruba. Dad worked in the oil field since he was 15 years old till his retirement. He started at the bottom and worked his way up to running the drilling rig. He was a hardworking man doing his best to support his family. After his retirement, he loved to work on his family farm raising cattle and working in his gardens. He enjoyed making sauerkraut, canning pickles and jellies with Christie, making homemade wine and making head sausage with his nephews, CL, Jerry, Joe Jr. and Jerry Wayne. Also he loved to go fishing and crabbing. His favorite spot was on Oyster Lake bridge fishing for redfish. He also loved seeing his grandkids and great grandkids giving them rides on the 4 wheeler and have them helping in his gardens. His pet dove and yellow bird are really going to miss him. They would answer him when he called them and would ride with him on the wheelchair. He is preceded in death by his wife Polly Bilek Zaruba, his parents, his brothers Joe, Alvin (Crook), IG, Anton, Jerry and Johnny Zaruba. His sisters Annie Rudolph, Evelyn Whearley (Goree), Jermallie Steinocher (Jerry), Theresa Morrison (Billy), Millie Morrison (Gene). Also his son-in-law Robert Adams and other nieces and nephews.
