Grapeland Messenger 25 September 2003 Funeral services for Katherine Killion were held Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home Chapel, Palestine with Rev. Jim Bradley officiating. Burial followed in the Fields Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kyle Irvine, Kurt Irvine, Cody Killion, Alvin Morton, Billy Glenn and Robert Caskey. Mrs. Killion passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at Greenbrier Nursing and Rehab Center in Palestine while suffering from lymphoma. She was born October 21, 1925 in Houston County, Mrs, Killion lived most of her life in the Palestine area as a homemaker and worked part-time at the Circulation Department of the Palestine Herald Press, She was instrumental in organ-izing a local T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapter in 1968 and was a faithful member until her death. She had served as an officer in the local chapter and as the Area Captain for the organization. Within the last year, she created a local organization, East Texas Medications, to assist senior citizens in obtaining medications from the pharmaceutical companies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam C, Klllion, as well as two infants; her parents and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Kay and Kline Irvine of Spring; one son, Mark and Tami KilIion of Palestine, one stepdaughter, Helen Jean and Fred Gentry of Baytown; grandchildren, Kyle and Katherine Irvine of Humble, Kurt Irvine and fiancée, Martha Hatcher of Daytona Beach, FL and Cody Killion of Palestine; step-grandchildren, Linda Jean McKenzie, JoAnn and Ed McHugh, Darlene Rocha, all of Baytown; step-grandchildren, Wendi Ferguson of Houston and Joel Martinez of Baytown; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
