From The Wolbach Messenger, June 11, 1970, page 1: Edward M. Dugan Killed in Vietnam - Sp-5 Edward M. Dugan, 20, son of Mrs. Catherine Dugan of Millard and the late Donald Dugan, died June 3 in action in Vietnam. He was killed when an Army helicopter on which he was riding as an observer crashed and burned after being fired upon by the enemy. He was born March 29, 1950 and spent his boyhood in the O'Connor vicinity. He attended elementary school in O'Connor and graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the class of 1968. He was attached to the 17th Air Cavalry and had been in Vietnam just over a year. Survivors include his mother; a sister, Donna Kay, and five brothers, Daniel, Gregory, Michael, Bradley and John, all of Millard. He was preceded in death by his father who died three years ago. Eddie is the third graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Greeley to die in Vietnam. Larry Harvey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Harvey was killed May 12, 1969 and John Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Harris, died July 29, 1969. Larry and Eddie had been classmates all through school and had graduated together.
