Lucille Lois Jeffers, the daughter of Milton and Bessie (Davis) Black, was born at Milltown, Indiana, on October 24, 1913, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 4, 1992, at the age of 78 years, 3 months, and 10 days. She grew up and attended school in the Trumbull area, and graduated from Trumbull High School. On September 25, 1936, she was united in marriage to Charles Jeffers, at Smith Center, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1965. After their marriage they lived in the Trumbull and Giltner area. After Charles' death, she moved to Hastings, and worked in Grand Island at the Delicious Foods, and later in the drapery department of Geer Mobile Homes. After moving to Aurora, she was employed in the kitchen at the Hamilton Manor. Lucille was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed quilting. When unable to attend services, she watched them on TV. She was also active in the Aurora V.F.W. Club, and enjoyed playing bingo with the people in the Memorial Community Care at the Aurora Memorial Hospital. Her hobby was sewing and plants. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Charles. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter, Nola Kliewer, and her husband Isaac of Aurora; 7 sisters, Olive Hall of Edmund, Oklahoma, Eula Carter of Boise, Idaho, Evelyn Bunde, Betty Black and Freada Gartner, all of Hastings, Marie Gartner of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Iris Mennenga of Caldwell, Idaho; 2 brothers, Kenneth Black and Cleo Black both of Caldwell, Idaho; 3 grandchildren, Cindy Tessman and her husband Don, Kim Kliewer and his wife Darlene, Tom Kliewer and his wife Arlys; and 6 great grandchildren, Jeff and Dawn Tessman, Peggy, Dana, Clayton, and Ashley Kliewer. Five sisters-in-law, Gladys Kirk, Marie Smith, Naomi Jensen and Freeda Snoberger, all of Aurora, and Berniece Spahr of Loveland, Colorado, and one brother-in-law, Don Snoberger of Aurora; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
