Funeral services for Gayle Caffey, 72, of Seminole, Texas, will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the West Side Church of Christ in Seminole, with Leo Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Gaines County Memorial Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole. Mrs. Caffey passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born April 6, 1935 in Quanah, Texas. She married Melvin Caffey in Medicine Mound, Texas in 1953, and aferwards they moved to Seminole, where they have lived since. Mrs. Caffey worked for the Seminole school system in the dietary department for 21 years, and was a member of West Side Church of Christ. She also volunteered with the Pink Ladies at Seminole Memorial Hospital, and served a term as president of the organization. Mrs. Caffey is preceded in death by her parents, and by one sister, Billie Jean Matthews. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Caffey of Seminole, Texas; 2 sons, Terry Caffey and wife Twila of Seminole, Texas, Tracy Caffey and wife Lynda of Ulysses, Kansas, 1 daughter Theresa Ervin and husband Jim of Snyder, Texas; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Step-Grandchildren; and 4 Step-Great-grandchildren 3 Step-Great-great-grandchildren Mrs. Caffey is also survived by several very special sisters-in law, and many very special friends.
