Bio

Maxine H. Kral , 88, of Sugar Camp, passed away on December 26, 2009 surrounded by her loving family and in the care of the staff of Cumberland Heights. She was born on March 16, 1921 in Kansas City, MO, daughter of Clayton C. and Edna (Landgrebe) Behen. Maxine married Charles B. Kral on July 19, 1941. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2004. Maxine graduated from Morton High School in Berwyn, IL in 1939. She and Charlie moved their family to the shores of Jennie Webber Lake in 1953. Maxine enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. Maxine was a 50-year member of Mabel Chapter 181, Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy Matron. She was also a past president of Past Matrons Club and a member of the Northwoods Shrine Auxiliary. Maxine was survived by two sons, Glenn (Lynne) Kral and Bryan (Sheree) Kral; one daughter, Karen (Ron) Becker; six grandchildren, Joshua, Jason and Marcus Kral and Melissa, Matthew, and Jeffrey Becker; sister, Rose Martin; brother, Clayton Behen; her sisters and brothers in the Eastern Star; and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charlie; and a brother and sister-in-law Harold and Ruth Behen of Covington, TN. *****
