Bio
Victoria Bailey, 89, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 11:05 a.m. Thursday November 8, 2007, at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong. Born on July 29, 1918, in Oblong, she was the daughter of Frank Davis and Osie (Dennis) Davis. She was employed with TRW and Crawford Electronics in Robinson; Senior Citizen Center in Oblong where she called to check on the senior citizen's health and she also helped in making quilts for fund raising. Victoria was a member of the Oblong First Baptist Church. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and she loved quilting, crocheting and camping. On December 21, 1940, she married Walter Bailey, who preceded her in death on March 28, 1976. Also preceding her were her parents; and two brothers Russell and Gerald Davis. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Loretta & Robert Newsome; six grandchildren and spouses, Amy & Chuck Christman, Robert & Jennifer Pritts, Julie & Chris Brown, Kimberly & Richard Wall, Bradley Newsome and Bruce & Susan Newsome; nine great-grandchildren, Paul & Sabrina Christman, Garrett Pritts & Kayla Pritts, Kristen Brown & Nicholas Brown, Joshua Wall,Jessica & Nate Everett,Beau Newsome and Robert & Jessica Newsome; five great-great-grandchildren, Daniel & Brandon Christman, Conner & Catlin Newsome and Makinlea Everett; one sister, Elzora Sanders; one niece, Barbara Griffin; and one nephew, Roger Sanders. Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois.
