Frances Christensen, age 91, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. No visitation. Frances Louise (Grella) Christensen, the daughter of Edward and Rose Pearl (Martz) Christensen, was born at Long Pine, Nebraska on October 27, 1930 and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on October 31st, 2021, at the age of 91. She graduated from Central City High School with the class of 1949. Frances was united in marriage to Nels Hans Christensen on March 5, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. They lived on a farm outside Central City and then moved to Marquette where they lived much of their life. They retired to Arizona in 1995 and moved back to Aurora in 2003. Her husband, Nels, passed away on August 23, 2018. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Kronborg, NE. She enjoyed piece quilting, puzzles and reading. Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Rose (Mark) Martin of Hayward, CA and Christine (Christopher) Garraway of KY; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Thomas, Yvonne (Chad) Carlson, Angela (JT) Reisdorph, James Martin, Shawn Djernes, Melisa (Hugo) Mendez, Stephanie Frauendorfer (Aaron Chapman), David, Jr. (Amanda) Frauendorfer and Daniel Frauendorfer; 14 great-grandchildren, Kyle & Kaleb Thomas, Kyla, Caden, Jenna and Ryan Carlson, Sydney and Jackson Reisdorph, Maximus, Monica and Xavier Mendez, Grace, Mason and Colton Chapman, Peyton and Cooper Frauendorfer. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Jayme Grella and Elvera (Dwight) Willcock of Stockham; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nels; infant daughter, Joan Teresa and daughter, Rachel Brummund; son, Roger Christensen; brother, E.M. Grella, sisters-in-law Alice (Vernon) Higby, and Ethel (Arvid) Johansen; nephew Larry Higby and niece Judy Roehrs.
