Per the picture of the headstone I have seen it reads: Marshal L Canada Born Feb 10 1850 Died Jan 22 1912 Gone but not forgotten Bio: It is known from newspaper articles that he was commonly known as Lafe or Uncle Lafe. He was married to Sarah Standifer who died in 1899. He was married to for a brief time in February 1900 to Mattie Ford but they divorced in late 1900. He also married a Mrs Elizabeth Davis in May 1901 and they divorced in late 1908. An obituary was found that referred to him as M L Canaday (as do some other newspaper items). The obituary states he was married twice, but three marriages are able to be documented. The obituary stated he lived and died at his farm on Deep Red, which appears to have been at the time near Grandfield, Tillman County, Oklahoma. Birth was in Missouri. Per FaG member Id No 49288549, a place of birth suggested is Edina, Knox County, Missouri. A search is in progress for documentation of the birthplace. Memorial is in progress and will be updated with additional information.
