Bio

Parents George Fredrick Hillen and Mary Emma Schuknecht Calvin G. Hillen, age 78, went to be with our heavenly father on October 12, 2021. Calvin was born on January 29, 1943 in Slaton, Texas to George F. and Mary E. Hillen. Calvin joined the Marines in 1962 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant E-5 in 1966. On June 17, 1971, Calvin married the love of his life, Diana "Jan" Janette Windham in Abilene, Texas, and they began their family. In 1974 Calvin, Jan, and their 2 daughters moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where they later had two sons. Calvin began his career as an electronic engineer for PPG Industries in Wichita Falls that same year. His family loved to brag that his badge number was 4, indicating he was the fourth employee hired there. Calvin retired after 34 years of dedication in 2008. He certainly didn't slow down! If anything, he was more active. He served as a consultant at PPG when needed, took up hunting and fishing, worked tirelessly around the family home and his church home. When Dad wasn't busy doing these things he loved tinkering in his shop and spending time with his beautiful wife of 50 years. Calvin is preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Monterey and Patricia Windham; his aunt Ellarine Schuknecht; his cousin Ronny Schuknecht; and his best friend Sonny Windham. He is survived by his loving wife Diana "Jan"; their children Wendy (Jess) Cendy, Chris (Ashley), Corey (Breanna), and bonus daughter Kristi King. Calvin also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Montie Krebs, Kena Story (Miracle), Jason, Jessica, and Justin Hillen, as well as Christian Adler and Brayden Seward; great grandchildren Addie, Beckett, Bethany, Chloe, and Kennidi. Calvin was the rock of our family and he will be very missed. We will love you always, Daddy! Falls Funeral Home and Cremation Center/Wichita Falls, Texas
