Theola M. Zechin was born in Stanton, Nebraska to Harold H. Zechin and Stacie (Krbel) Zechin. At and early age, Theola and her family relocated to Idaho where she graduated from Kuna High School. She moved to Fremont, Nebraska where she received her Teaching Certificate in 1951 from Midland College after which she taught for one year. She was united in marriage to Richard D. Svoboda on June 8, 1952. She and Richard located in Wahoo where Richard built their home on 9th Street and they raised their family. Theola was employed in the automotive industry as an office manager and bookkeeper for more than 26 years for the dealerships of Wahoo Ford Sales, Anderson Auto, Frohner Auto, Rolfsmeier Auto (Seward), Dean's Ford and Marty Swanty Dodge. She was also employed by the following businesses for various periods of time: Wahoo Auto Supply, Atlas Missile Base, First National Bank, Hinky Dinky, Sears and Burger King. After she retired from the automotive industry in the early 90's she started her "mini" farm on which she raised miniature horses, Dexter cattle, chickens, geese, turkeys, peacocks, and a llama. She enjoyed having the grandchildren and great-grandchildren as frequent visitors enjoying the farm experience. Preceded by: Husband: Richard D.
