Roy A. Blackwell, Jr., 73, of Stockton, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2007 in Hospice House of Stock-ton. Born on November 12, 1933 in Pueblo, CO, he was a program manager with San Joaquin County for 25 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in finance from University of Southern Colorado, attended University of Colorado, University of Arizona and UOP. A member of Beta Phi Epsilon and Stockton Kiwanis Clbu. He loved football and make trips to the ocean. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Nell Blackwell. Roy is survived by his wife of 26 years, Wanza Blackwell of Stockton. Father of Lisa (Greg), Roy (Angie), Robert (Maureen), Kimberly and the late Mark Gibson and Scott Gordon Gibson. Grandfather of Brittney, Megan, Caitlin, Lauren, Maggie, Hannah, Kelvin, Esther, Robert, Cody, Kayla and Crystal. Also survived by a host of employees, relatives and friends. Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Evergreen Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, Rev. Nita Rienhart officiating with full military honors from the U.S. Army. Cherokee Memorial Fuenral Home in charge of arrangements.
