Bio

ERNEST LENWOOD HOLLEY, 74, operator of a general store east of Marlow, Oklahoma, for 20 years or more, died at 12:50 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 1958, in the local hospital. He had been in the hospital for three weeks and had received surgery about two weeks ago. Holley was well-known in the Foster area. Until two years ago, when he retired and moved to Marlow, he had operated a store and service station located 18 miles east of here. He lived at 107 West Kiowa in Marlow. He had lived in Stephens County for 32 years. Holley was born in Adar, Arkansas, on March 5, 1884. His first marriage was to Lily Mae Davis on August 19, 1911, in Mansfield, Louisiana. She died in 1921. He married Lillie Mae Winkler on March 5, 1948 at Vernon, Texas. Survivors include the widow, Lillie of the home address; two daughters, Helen Long Hyatt, Buckeye, Arizona, and Irma Turner of Foster; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Also a sister, Lucy Clark, Lake Charles, Louisiana; a half-sister, Edna Goldston, Bakersfield, California; and a step-brother, W. E. Hadlock, Marlow. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church, conducted by Rev. C. E. Clark. Callaway-Smith Funeral Home directed burial in the Marlow Cemetery. Bearers were Earl Graham, B. E. Goodrich, Joe Blundell, Hugh Gatlin, Tip Graham and Wayne Flynn.
