Bio
Mary Jane Dicken was born near Albany, Clinton Co., Ky on 18 Dec 1855 to John R. and Martha (Tallent) Dicken. On 8 Sep 1875 she married Joseph Louis Higginbotham (Higgenbottom) at her father's home in Clinton Co. Joe was born in Forest Cottage, Clinton Co., KY on 4 Jun 1852. Around 1884 Mary Jane's parents moved to Grayson Co., TX and then to Maud, Bowie Co., TX. Mary Jane and Joe probably moved with their young family from Ky to Tx at or around the same time. Of their 10 children the 1st five were born in Clinton Co., KY and the last five in Grayson Co., TX. Both Mary Jane & Joe died in Maud, Bowie Co., TX and are buried in the Center Ridge Cemetery where they share a headstone. There is a photo of this tombstone in the cemetery register online.
