Bio
Homer Darius Rowland (1927-2011) went to be with our heavenly Father on 9/11/21 at his home in Willow Springs, NC. He passed peacefully in his sleep. Homer was well-known in the community as a farmer, dog trainer, and church deacon for most of his life. He was born in Fuquay, NC to Grady M. Rowland and Lunette Weatherspoon Rowland where he resided most of his life. He served two years in the Army Air Corps during WWII and then moved to North Loop, Nebraska with his wife, Hazel Albee, for a short time before returning to NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Dewey, and his sisters (Cora, Mary, Celia and Rebecca) and his wife, Hazel. Homer is survived by his five daughters: Rebecca Rowson, Terri Jones, Susan Tingen, Sandra Untch, and Vicki Daulton, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, September 16th, at 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with visitation from 12:00 - 12:45 pm.
