Bio

Helen Theresa Adamcik, 91, of Weimar, was called by the Lord to her eternal home to join the Lord and Victor on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, after an extended Schulenburg Regency Nursing Center stay. A private rosary and Mass were held at St Michael's Catholic Church in Weimar on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, with Fr. Wayne Flagg officiating. Entombment was at the St. Michael's Mausoleum next to Victor. Pallbearers were grandsons Todd Allan, Jason Carroll, Chris Kutac, Jason Kutac, Craig Kutac and Alan Reid. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Antosh, Jimmy Hrcek, Donald Kutac, and Michael Amland. Helen was born to Charles and Antonie Hrachovy on July 5, 1930, in Hostyn. Growing up she attended Radhost Elementary School as well as helping her parents on the farm. She later worked at the downtown Joske's in San Antonio. Helen met Victor Adamcik at a church dance, marrying him at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn on Dec. 29, 1951. Afterward, Helen and Victor continued their love of dancing (especially polkas and waltzes). They worked together to grow and raise their family of seven children residing in Weimar since 1955. However, after the unexpected passing of her husband Victor in 1974, Helen continued to provide for the young family. Helen loved her Czech heritage and language which allowed her to converse with many of the elder Czech residents in the area. This was extremely useful during her time as a nursing assistant. In addition, Helen was noted for her canning abilities especially pickles and jellies. Later in life, she became an avid Astros fan. Helen, a devout Catholic and member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Weimar, ensured her children received a Catholic education. She was a member of St Ann's Society, Catholic Daughters, and KJZT. Helen is survived by her sister, Leona Hrcek of Weimar, but also her seven pride and joy children: Anthony Adamcik of San Antonio; Patrick (Linda) Adamcik of Haslum, Norway; Sharon (Doug) Reid of Round Rock; Connie (Jerome) Kutac of Houston; Janet Adamcik of Katy; Larry (Joy Lee) Adamcik of Palestine; and William (Karen) Adamcik of Wallis. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; sister, Beatrice Kopecek; daughter-in-law, Betty Adamcik; and grandson, AJ Adamcik. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michael's Catholic Church building fund or charity of one's choice.
