Irene Mary Kocurek, 81, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, September 6, 2021. Irene was born in Ennis, Texas to Joe F. and Frances (Jakubik) Kriska on May 20, 1940. Irene grew up in Ennis and graduated from Creechville School. On December 29, 1959, she married Julius Henry Kocurek and they originally made their home in Schulenburg, Texas before moving to Ennis. Irene worked with her husband in the mowing business. She also had a cleaning business mainly cleaning private homes. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Irene enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and shopping with the family. Irene is survived by daughters: Darlene Rowe and Melinda Pittman and husband, Frankie; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Harrison and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Julius Kocurek in 1991. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with Rosary at 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant.
