Bio

Raymond Stanley Dlabaj of Ennis, Texas passed away peacefully at age 91 on August 25, 2021 in Ennis, Texas. He was born to John Sr. & Aloise Dlabaj on July 25, 1930. He was the second youngest of 11 children. He grew up in Ennis, Texas and left school after the 8th grade to help his parents on the family farm. He later established his career as a plumber founding Advanced Plumbing Service. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Evelyn Julie Vlacilek. Shortly after marriage, Ray was drafted into the army at the young age of 23 and served in the Korean War. He was decorated with six medals while serving and was discharged in 1954. During this time, Ray and Evelyn were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sandy and Diane. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved taking road trips with his family across the country. A man of many hobbies, Raymond enjoyed his time spent on Lake Whitney, hosting parties at the Ennis farm, and hunting at the deer lease in Jewitt, Texas. He was especially proud of his hand built 30'x11' floating barge he had on Lake Whitney and made countless memories with friends and family for over 60 years. Raymond was an accordion player and founded The Country Boys Band entertaining crowds with Czech and country music. Raymond was an active member in the KJT, SPJST, and Western Fraternal Life Association. Raymond is survived by his daughter Sandy Adamcik and husband Bobby, Diane Lucien and husband Alan Sr., grandchildren Alan Lucien Jr. and wife Jill, Jennifer Adamcik and spouse Jason Anderson, Lindsay Waugaman and spouse Wes, Angela Marek and spouse Jon, great-grandchildren Charley, Raylee, Joey and Ava. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Evelyn Dlabaj of 60 years and all 10 siblings. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis, Texas at 6 pm with rosary beginning at 7 pm. Mass of the Christian burial will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10 am at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, Texas.
