Bio

Frank was the son of Frank W. and Lillie McLaurin Piper. Frank's father was the son of Martha Ann Louisa Edwards Piper and her husband, Samuel Piper. Martha was my great grandfather, Joseph B. Edwards' oldest sister. When their father died, Joe was not yet born, and his mother died not long thereafter. Martha, recently married, upon her mother's death took all her younger brothers into her home to raise them. Martha and Sam Piper moved to Texas in 1873, taking the brothers with them. Joe was then 10 years old, per my grandmother's typed family history notes. Grandma, Cora Edwards Dallas, was one of Joe's 11 children. Martha and Sam raised her brothers in Hopkins County, TX until they emancipated. Their son Frank, was the father to this Frank. Frank also lived in Hopkins County, TX. He adopted his two sons, children of his wife. This adoption was confirmed in a conversation with Donald Ray Piper's wife in 2017. It is possible Frank had no biological children.
