Helen Marie (Baca) Mauldin, 85, of Houston, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Born on Nov. 28, 1935 in Schulenburg, she was the daughter of Adolph and Hattie Agnes (Berger) Baca. On June 7, 1952, she married Floyd Mauldin at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg. She worked in retail after their children were school-aged, including being assistant manager at Sears in the Paint Department for 15 years and assistant manager at high-end fabric store Golden Needle for 12 years. Survivors include four children, Loretta Boggan (Mitch) of Simsbury, Conn., Charlotte Kieliszek (Mike) of San Marcos, Les Mauldin (Peggy) of Spring, and Glen Mauldin (Cristina Apollo) of Houston; five brothers and sisters, Douglas "Butch" Baca (Joy), Curtis Baca, Bonnie Guettermann, Emmanuel Baca and Carlton Baca; and nine grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband on Sunday, July 20, 2008. Memorials may be made to a local charity of the donor's choice.
